Antibiotic Eye Drops:

Oflox / Gentamycin / Lacromycin / Opti-Genta / Okacin / Vigamox / Zymar

Antibiotics are given as eye-drops in order to prevent bacterial infection following intraocular surgery (surgery performed within the eye). They are prescribed as preventative, prophylactic, treatment, usually given at a dose of 3-4 times a day.

These same antibiotic drops are given to eyes that already harbor bacterial infections, such as conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers.
